THE CONGRESS/ CONFERENCE
The theme for the year’s congress “
Vision 2020” : The Journey So Far, will provide members
the opportunity to assess and evaluate the implementation
and impact of the
of Vision 2020 initiative both globally and locally.
The sub-theme – Corneal Diseases
will review diseases of the cornea including the vital issue
of corneal transplantation in our communities.
THE 2006 CONGRESS WILL FEATURE
- Symposia
on the theme and sub-theme, Abstract on papers on these
topic are requested from members
- Named
Lectures i.e President’s Lecture, Council Lecture,
Okechukwu Memorial Lecture.
- Eye
Camp: a cataract eye camp at National Eye Center, Kaduna
and Hajia Gambo Sabawa Hospital, Zaria between the 2nd and
5th of September 2006 will precede The Conference.
At least 150 eyes will be operated on. Members are
implored to indicate their interest in participation on or
before 31st July. Most surgeries will be performed
using the small incision cataract surgery technique. Don’t
be left out!!
- Small
Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) Training. The SICS
training will run concurrently with the Eye Camp at the
National Eye Center, Kaduna . Resource persons will impart
this necessary skill for those who are conversant in
ECCE+PCIOL
- No of
trainees- Six (6)
- Training Fees- N20,000.

strictly on first come basis.

their annual dues on or before 31st July 2006 shall
automatically be included in a raffle draw from which the
first 3 winners will receive gifts from OSN
