The Local Organizing Committee is , honored and pleased to invite you to the 34th Annual Congress and Scientific Conference of the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria 'EKO 2009', scheduled to take place in lagos from Thursday 24'" to Saturday 26 th Septcmber2009.
The theme for this year is "Vision 2020" The right to sight, and the sub theme is subspecialty development.
Lagos State (The state of aquatic splendour) is located in southwestern Nigeria, bordered by Ogun State, Republic of Benin and the Atlantic Ocean. It was created on May 27 th 1967 and served as the administrative capital of Nigeria until 12 th December 1991 when it was moved to Abuja. However it remains the Nation's economic and commercial capital. Due to its sound economic base and socio-economic importance, Lagos State is a socio-cultural melting-pot attracting both Nigerians and Foreigners alike; however, it is essentially Yoruba-speaking. Monuments and buildings which serve as Tourist sites include the first storey building in Nigeria in Badagry, Lekki conservation centre, Slave port and slave market in Badagry, Tafawa Balewa square, National theatre, just to mention a Few. Lagos stale is currently in the process of infrnstructural development in the making ere mega city. |

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
The format for submission of abstracts relevant to the conference theme and sub-theme as well as free papers is as follows:

Title of paper
-
Name and address of authors
-
Name and address of author who will present the paper and to whom correspondence should he addressed.
-
Abstract consisting of Objectives, Methodology, Results and Conclusion. This should not exceed 250 words.
-
Indicate format for presentation, e.g. PowerPoint, poster.
Abstracts are also invited from Residents for the Residents' presentations. A prize will be awarded to the resident whose presentation is judged to be the best.
Participants are reminded of the usual Dr. BGK Ajayi award for the best poster presentation at the OSN. Also, for the first time at the OSN national conference there will be entries for Video presentations and Innovation in ophthalmology. All eye departments are encouraged to send in as many abstracts as possible. The eye department with the most number of' accepted abstracts will be acknowledged.
